Kingsnorth Plant Barn Slab
The scheme involved the construction of a 900m2 reinforced concrete slab. The project had a very tight timescale due to the clients requirements to vacate existing premises and begin operation from these new facilities as a matter of urgency.
At the pre-construction phase we worked closely with the client to ensure that the correct budget for the scheme was built efficiently and promptly. Following our successful selection as the preferred bidder for the project we mobilised promptly and begun construction in a short period of time, we commenced works on site in November 2017.
The site was particularly remote and exposed, with high winds and winter working hours due to limited lighting.
Following the site preparation works our site team worked extended hours on the run up to the Christmas period. In order to safely place over 1800m2 of mesh in difficult weather conditions, additional task lighting was installed to facilitate the extended working hour requirements of the completion date.
Upon completion of the steel fixing our concrete finishing teams placed and finished over 300m3 of concrete, again within extended working hours, inclemental weather and additional task lighting to complete the project within the clients tight programme.
This scheme represents our ability to deliver complex and difficult civil engineering schemes within both tight time scales and inclemental environmental constraints.
The project was completed within budget, within timescales and importantly to the clients complete satisfaction.
